Administrative internship!
our Interns make a difference
Camp Kids Are Kids Chicago is a pediatric oncology camp that provides children living with (& beyond) cancer and their siblings a unique camp experience that takes place at the Hilton Hotels of Chicago during the summer.
Through this internship, you will learn skills that you can apply in your future, and gain experience working with oncology patients in the camp setting. You will learn how oncology camps operate, and assist in developing the camp's schedule, activities, and participants. As you work closely with the camp director to design and manage programs, you will gain experience working with hospital partners, donors, leadership team members, and committee members.
This internship is primarily administrative in nature. Although not directly related to Child Life, the position allows you to grow professionally while also seeing the application of Child Life outside the traditional settings. You will see how camp is run from behind the scenes and how camp events are planned and executed. You will be working hand in hand with the camp directors and other members of our leadership team and committee members. You and the camp directors will go over your expectations and goals for this internship as well as what is needed from your school. Hours may vary depending on your schedule and the camp director’s schedule. Expect more meetings around camp events to ensure that everything is ready to go before the event.
