CAMP STAFF DEVELOPMENT WEEKEND HELD AUGUST 7TH AND AUGUST 8TH

The Camp Staff Development Weekend will be held on the weekend of August 79th at the Palmer House and Drake Hotel. The Staff Development Weekend is Mandatory for all.

Join us for a fun-filled day on Sunday, March 1st from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Twin Rinks Ice Pavilion (1500 Abbott Court, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089). Ice skating from 4 pm to 5 pm, games and activities for those who don’t skate, skating coaches to help those who want to learn to skate, and stability devices for those who need assistance on the ice. And there will be dinner! Please make sure you RSVP in a timely manner to ensure food for everyone. Please RSVP here. Little Steps Of Hope Walk September 27th, 2020

When: Sunday, September 27th 10:00AM – 11:30 AM

Where: UIC Student Recreation Facility, 737 Halstead Street

Last year we raised over $35,000 at this amazing event! Thank you to all our families, volunteers and supporters. Come join us again this year. Everyone gets a T-shirt, there is great music and fun activities for all. This event takes place during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – help us raise awareness and funding for the kids of Camp Kids Are Kids Chicago.

Join us at the fabulous Joy District for a fun-filled fundraising event! There will be a live auction, a silent auction, and an exciting raffle with multiple prize-winners. We are proud to have a special aperance by one of our alumni campers, who will share their story of how camp impacted their life. This event will be attended by past campers, camp families, and anyone who is interested in joining or participating with our Camp Kids Are Kids Chicago Family. The Cruising with Camp Fundraisers promises to be an unforgettable evening of eating, drinking, mingling, and having a great time. Joy District is located at 112 W Hubbard Street, Chicago. The event will be on the 2nd floor. Purchase your tickets now to attend.

Tuesday, May 5th is #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of generosity and unity, a day to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, no matter who or where we are.

Camp Kids Are Kids Chicago aims to help supplement the May 9th Cruising With Camp event we had to cancel because of COVID-19. You can help us by:

Donating $25 for a CKAKC cotton Face Mask (non-medical). For a $100 donation we will send you 5 CKAKC Face Masks.
Donating your spare change to CKAKC via the RoundUp App. We will send all new that sign up by May 5th a CKAKC Face Mask.
Spread the word by sharing and reposting our social media post which shares our mission.

While no Pediatric Oncology Camps took place in person this summer, Camp Kids Are Kids Chicago pivoted with their first “The Camp Show Must Go On!” virtual program which was a huge success! Since we had to cancel all in person events, we couldn’t do our typical fundraisers either. Help us to continue to offer our families the camp experience they need with our first virtual raffle where you can win incredible prizes. The Making Virtual Dreams Come True drawing will happen on Thursday, October 22nd. The Cost for the Raffle Tickets is 1 for $150, 2 for $200, 5 tickets for $400, and 10 tickets for $750.

Prizes

A $3,000 landscaping experience with one of the premier landscaping companies in the North Shore, Root and Stem. This credit can be used for a landscaping or hardscaping project. (Depending on location, we will work with the winner.)

A Custom Dinner for 10 Guests at RPM Italian or an RPM at Home Dinner from RPM Italian (with a chef included). A dynamic, custom multi-course menu prepared for you by a collaboration between the chef team and beverage team with wine pairings.

A $1,500 gift certificate to Dana Rebecca Designs, a female-owned small business that believes you don’t need to pick between high quality and attainable prices. With the holidays coming up this will be perfect for that special someone.

A two-night stay at Lincoln Park’s The Neighborhood Hotel in a large one-bedroom suite, which includes a queen sleeper sofa, breakfast at Frances Deli and late-night food from the Wieners Circle. We will all need a staycation once things return back to the norm.

Join Us for Camptoberfest!

A fun virtual night of fun for adults and children!

The adult’s event will be held from 6 – 8pm. This will include a German cooking class from Himmels Chicago, wine tasting through Wilmette Wine Cellar, and a raffle. You will be provided with an ingredient list to purchase prior to the event, and depending on where you live, wine can be picked up or sent to your home depending on your location (a small delivery fee may apply and if you’re out of state local laws apply so please call us to confirm).

The children’s event will be from 6 – 7:30 pm and is available for free for our current campers or with an adult event ticket purchased. This will include pumpkin decorating, a fun edible craft, and a time to catch up with friends or meet new friends! You will be provided with a shopping list of items you will need for the event.
