CKAKC is a proud member of Children’s Oncology Camping Association-International (COCA-I), an organization of 92 member camps, founded in 1982, and which served the needs of 35,500 campers in 2014. COCA-I is a nonprofit organization with a mission to strengthen the international community of camps for children with cancer and their families through networking, education and advocacy. As stated by Dave Smith, former President of COCA-I, who attended CKAKC in 2014, “This is COCA-I’s first urban camp ever and will become a model which will be the beginning of an urban camping experience which will touch the lives of many campers and their families.”

Help send a child living with cancer to Camp Kids Are Kids. At camp, these children interact with others who understand their challenges and give support, all while they are having the time of their lives. Parents tell us their children come home changed. They have better coping skills, have improved attitude and socialization skills. They have made year round friends with which they share experiences.
